The situation is such that both hands and one leg cannot move, relying on others for life, yet the indifferent government remains unresponsive.
Tonk. Baboolal Bairwa, a teacher at Mahatma Gandhi Government School in Arnia Mal, Tonk, faces significant challenges as he is 75% disabled and his posting is nearly 50 kilometers from his home. This distance makes commuting extremely difficult for him. Despite numerous attempts to seek a transfer from higher authorities to ministers, he feels unheard by the government.
Due to his remote posting, he relies on others for daily commutes, which poses a significant challenge. Last year, on September 9, 2024, while heading to school, Baboolal was severely injured in a road accident. Doctors had initially declared his condition dire, but he miraculously survived. However, on July 3, 2025, he faced another accident on his way to school, resulting in a broken arm.
Repeated Appeals to Authorities
Baboolal has reached out to various officials, including the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, and Education Minister, requesting a transfer closer to Tonk City for better accessibility. However, he feels that the representatives of the government are unresponsive to his plight.
Living with Severe Disabilities
Baboolal shared that he is 75% disabled, with both hands and one leg immobile, making him reliant on others for basic tasks like eating and drinking. This has led to significant difficulties in commuting to school, prompting him to appeal to the government for a transfer. If his request is granted, it would greatly ease his ability to continue his teaching career.
Acknowledged for Innovative Efforts
Despite his challenges, Baboolal remains committed to innovation in education. He has initiated projects like establishing a toy bank, securing funds from benefactors for the school, and promoting health and education awareness among students through sports. His efforts have earned him recognition at both block and district levels, including an award from the district administration of Tonk on January 26.
